The Quiet Struggles Right Next to Us
By: Sheila Sonon
Have you ever wondered where the next meal will come from, how you’ll afford the shoes your children need, or how the electric bill will get paid when your bank account is nearly empty? Financial strain has a way of pressing on the heart, stealing peace, and filling our prayers with quiet desperation.
Many of us have faced seasons of hardship, moments where things felt tight and uncertain. Yet for some, that struggle isn’t a season—it’s constant. There are people sitting beside us in church who don’t know if they’ll still have a home next month. For some families, the food and coffee provided at Reallife may be the only meal they have on any given weekend.
These burdens often go unseen, carried silently into worship.
God’s Word reminds us of a powerful promise: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). God is our provider, and sometimes His provision comes through the hands and hearts of His people.
Real Life is one of those places where God’s care becomes tangible. Resources are available, including the Food Pantry Produce Distribution and Pantry Breakfast held on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00–10:30 a.m. Reallife also has a Love in Action fund designed to help those in need during difficult times.
If you are struggling, you are not alone—and you are not forgotten. God sees you, He cares deeply for you, and He often answers prayers through a loving church family ready to help.
