Oops, we did it again! Pastor Joshua Mhlakela, from Johannesburg recently created a video stating that Jesus was coming on a specific date in late September. The video got over 500,000 downloads and was followed with many indicating they were selling their possessions and preparing to leave it all behind.
The date came and went, the pastor has said nothing since, and the church makes fools of themselves. Dear friends, I implore you to spend zero time worrying about when Jesus is coming again and tons of time helping your world be ready. In Luke 12:43, Jesus says this about us as servants in the meanwhile, “He is a blessed man if when the master shows up he's doing his job.”
Want some options of what fits for “doing your job”?
Showing up on time and giving your best at work.
Sharing your food with hungry people.
Driving your mom to the doctor’s office.
Telling someone about what Jesus has done for you.
Sweeping the floor with a joyful attitude.
Parking cars for the church.
Nursing your baby.
Inviting someone to Let There Be light
You get the idea, right? God is coming again and it’s going to be wonderful. Until that day, there is plenty to do. Let’s go people!
