How Many Times

Tuesday July 8th
How Many Times
By: Cati Cooney

How many times have you felt the tug to step out of your comfort zone in the Lord and you’ve hesitated because of the “why”? We get scared, nervous, or think we aren’t qualified to step out. Truth is, God will use us for His plan regardless of ourselves. The night I rededicated to God, it felt like a fight with Him – in the end, I said out loud, “Okay God, you win. I’m here. Now what?” I didn’t know why he wanted me, in all my sin and reluctance to give up my plan in exchange for His.

In Daniel 12:8, Daniel experienced a similar unknowing feeling, “I heard what he said, but I did not understand what he meant. So I asked, ‘How will all this finally end, my lord?’” Daniel was one of the first people that asked the hard question, seeing the end of days and STILL not knowing what it all meant.

We are human. We aren’t going to get it, even when we see the entire plan laid out right in front of us – but God doesn’t call us to know the whole plan AND understand it all, does He? He calls us to be obedient, and to dialogue with Him when we don’t get it. We shouldn’t let our lack of understanding prevent us from acting out His plan though, ask Him for clarity but know that it’s okay not to know. Rest in knowing He’s the all-knowing, and He’s not going to lead you astray – and what’s better, He can pull you out of the mud if you take the wrong path.

Can you challenge yourself this week to step out in faith, even if you don’t know the “why” yet? See what he reveals to you in your obedience.
