Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done
Pastor Todd Crofford
No one likes to be the bearer of bad news. Jesus’ heart broke when he prophesied these things about Jerusalem. He could see just a mere 40 years beyond his death that Jerusalem and the temple would be violently and utterly destroyed.
And yet, the glory of the Son of Man would remain. He promised, “people will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” (Luke 21:27 GW) One greater than the temple had now come and never again would that antiquated system be needed.
We could spend weeks discussing all the perplexing apocalyptic imagery in the Bible, but Jesus’ one admonition stands above them all- Be Ready! He wants us to spend less time trying to correlate every recent current event with ancient prophecy and more time living like he is coming soon by sharing his love with all the world while there is still time. Instead of fear, we make our prayer, “let your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” And let that start through me!
