Veggie Tales Anyone?
By: Kaleigh Hoschar
I love the movie “Jonah” by Big Ideas Entertainment!
Don’t judge me, but it is a really good movie that I would gladly sit down and watch if presented the opportunity!
Why? Because it’s about Jonah.
Who didn’t see value in certain people.
Who refused to go where the Lord called him.
Who RAN from God.
Doesn’t seem like much of a story to celebrate if that were the ending right?
But there’s more…
“Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”
Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it.”
-Jonah 3:1-3
God gave Jonah another chance.
Another chance to trust and obey.
Our God is the God of second chances. He sees us when we run and when we fall short, and instead of casting us aside he says “will you follow me?”
I don’t think for a second that we deserve second chances. I don’t know where I would be without the Grace of God in my life who willingly offers second chances. I couldn’t earn it in an eternity.
But our God gives second chances. And I can abide in trusting and obeying a God like that.
