Trust
By: Chrissy Cooney
Have you seen the glass floor at the Space Needle in Seattle? You can see right through it like you are standing on nothing; and it’s 500 feet up in the air! A friend of mine was blessed to visit there recently and showed me pictures of her standing on the glass floor, commenting that it took a lot of convincing to get her to walk out on it.
We exercise faith (trust) in things all the time – when I sit in my favorite chair I have faith that it’s sturdy enough for me to drop down into it, and when I cross the bridge to Solomons Island I have faith that it’s going to hold all of the cars that are crossing at any given moment. I trust that those things will work the way they were designed because they have never failed me yet.
Do you know who else has never failed us? Our God. Our Savior. The One who spoke to Moses in the burning bush, parted the Red Sea, helped David defeat Goliath, closed the lion’s mouths for Daniel. The same One who healed lepers, restored sight to the blind, told Peter where to cast His net, and raised Lazarus from the dead. The One who rose on the third day.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and he will show you which path to take.”
Friend, He loves you and He is for you. You can trust Him, even when it feels like you’re walking out on a glass floor, when you don’t understand things, and don’t know what your next step will be. You can trust God.
