Cup of Ambition

A friend gave me a mug a couple of weeks ago and it is officially one of my favorites! It says “Cup of Ambition” on the front! Why is it one of my favorites? Because it reminds me (and her) of a beautiful verse from 1 Thessalonians 4:11.
It says:
“And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life:
You should mind your own business and work with your hands,
just as we told you.”
Did you know that you were called to work with your hands? To lead a quiet life? The job you do matters whether it is a stepping stone or not.
When you are making it your ambition to live a quiet life, work with your hands, and moving in the directions that God is calling you to in your ordinary life, you are honoring the Lord and his desires for you! The work that HE is CALLING you to and not the world.
This world is silly. And people are going to call you all kinds of things, placing labels and expectations on your life. But when we drown out the noise… we step into this beautiful relationship between us and God.
It is personal and special to you and God alone! And your responsibilities become abundantly clear!
He will reveal things in your life you should work through, people you have a calling to walk beside and things that you need to take on and NOT take on!.
You will get to share little moments between you and God that bring joy and life to your soul!
