Live it Up!
By: Pastor Amie
“A wasted life is really nothing more than a collection of wasted days.” -Unknown
I never start a diet on a Monday. Maybe it’s the stubbornness in me, but I refuse to follow the crowd of people who swear that Monday brings a magical motivation that Thursday cannot. You know how some people eat tacos on Tuesday or have a fun day because it’s Sunday? What about a new workout Wednesday or healthy food Friday for the start of something that is good for us? It’s catchy right? And you don’t need a Monday to make it stick.
If you started your diet on Monday, I’m not knocking you. It’s just that a wasted life is nothing more than a collection of wasted days. If I know I need to develop better habits, why wait for January 1st to start? Reading the Bible is good today! Watching what I eat is good today! Working on that relationship or working towards that goal is good today! Besides, as the writer of proverbs reminds us….
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
-Proverbs 27:1
The truth is I don’t know what 2024 has in store. What I do know is I am in control of my choices today. The new year offers a mental reset, but Christmas Day reminds us we can choose to live into the new us RIGHT NOW! So why wait a week to begin?
Look different from the crowd, jump in today! (Even though today is Monday.)
