The Art of Waiting
By: Pastor Amie
“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
The Psalmist, King David, gives us some helpful tools for our waiting seasons. We are to be strong and take heart while we wait for the Lord. The above psalm is specific to waiting on an answer to prayer. However, I find it’s equally true to waiting on God’s promises. We are to be strong, to take heart, and to wait on the Lord! We are not to push through, rush through, or take over. He alone knows our tomorrow and He is with you in your today.
Waiting isn’t new to us. We see it all over the Bible, especially with God’s chosen vessels! Noah waited for rain. David waited to be King. Abraham and Sarah waited for Isaac. Joseph waited in prison and Moses’ waited in the wilderness. Israel waited for the Messiah, and we are waiting for His return.
I don’t know what you are waiting on today. Maybe it’s an answer to prayer. Maybe it’s the fulfillment of a promise God spoke into you. What I do know is you can wait with hope! If God is for you, who can be against you? The how and the when are not as important as the Who. Wait on the Lord, and rest in this truth: He has you regardless.
