Remind Yourself

Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:10-12
It is easy to stand and watch others mess up when they get it wrong…develop a mindset of judgment and self-righteousness. Been there. Done that.
Know this: Satan has a plan for your life. To deceive and divide. To have you struggle against each other rather than fight for each other. To steal the mindset of peace and forgiveness and understanding. To remove our focus off God and his wisdom and his truth.
I hate when he succeeds in my own life. I hate when I fall into his schemes and I allow myself to fall into the evil fleshly behaviors Christ set me free from.
Thankfully, Christ not only has a greater plan for us but has given us a way to resist. We have been given the Word of God that guides us to all Truth. We have been given forgiveness over all our wrongdoings. We have been given the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us in all things. We have been given the gift of direct communication with God.
Use the truths in God’s Word to set your mind right. Remind yourself that just as you are a sinner in need of Christ's forgiveness, so are others. Allow the Spirit of God to move in you to seek love and peace toward others. And pray continually over yourself and others for the power of God to strengthen you.
