Real Life Devotional Series “Hunger” – Week 2 - Tuesday - Amie Donovan
Written On My Heart
Scripture Reading – Psalms 119: 10-16 (ESV)

“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes! With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.”

Sometimes I just hold the Bible in my hands, not even opening to a page. I love how it feels to grip the bind and know I am physically touching the very Word of God. Why such rebellious people get the opportunity to hold righteous truth and meditate on it is nothing short of Grace. I equally love that it pleases God for us to do this. Throughout scripture from Genesis to Revelation, we read what honors our LORD. In this love letter, we see a deep strive for moral perfection combined with an authentic understanding that we cannot attain it alone.

When the psalmist exclaims, “With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!” He’s saying, I desperately want to know you, but I need you to sustain the desire while I’m in this ever distracting world! How good is God’s Word? How great are the testimonies of the saints? I find comfort in their journey, truth in their hardship, and victory in God's continual deliverance. This world can take my job, take my money, take my plans, but the Word of God will never be removed because it’s written on my heart!

Oh God, how could I ever forget your Word! Praise you, Abba.
