Trusting God to Lead Us

Psalm 139:14-16 (ICB)

One of the subtlest traps we can fall into is yielding to peer pressure or wanting to be like everyone else. I suppose we all want to feel accepted, but I believe that conformity chokes creativity and can prevent us from fulfilling our potential in life. As we look at nature, we cannot help but marvel at God's incredible creative power. He did not just create ants—scientists have recognized 10,000 different species of them! There are 350,000 species of beetles recognized and more than 1 million species of insects alone on the earth!

We have all heard that every single snowflake is unique - mind-boggling! But I discovered that each snowflake has a 6-sided crystalline structure built up gradually as it forms and falls to the earth. Tiny variations in temperature, humidity, air pressure, and wind affect each ice crystal as it grows, finally forming a unique pattern.

Psalm 139:14-16 says:
"I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother’s body. When I was put together there, you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in your book before I was one day old."

God created every single one of us to be unique. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 that the Holy Spirit gives each of us different spiritual gifts so that we can fulfill our part in the Body of Christ. Then, as we go through our life here on earth, we are molded by our experiences, which add to that uniqueness. As we trust God to lead us through this life, He begins to use us to encourage and inspire others and reach the potential that HE has for us!
