Real Life Devotional Series “Hunger” – Week 1 - Wednesday – Lori Ennis
Complete in Christ
Scripture Reading - Colossians 2:10 (NASB)
"And in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over every ruler and authority.”
This world is full of discouragement. Some things make our hearts yearn for something different—to know the answers to all the ‘Why?’ of the world. It’s full of things we know are not good nor accurate, and we keep seeking ways to make sense of it all. We have ‘answers’ thrown all around, and many from those we put on high religious pedestals. But we’re not always guided to seek the truth—just a relative truth that may be true for me but not necessarily true for you.
This is just the crowd Paul was talking to in this passage. He knew some Christian Colossians were a bit off in their teachings—more Gnostic and preaching that ‘true’ wisdom and knowledge may be hidden but could be found if one looked hard enough.
But Paul told the Colossians that they didn’t have to look hard at all. They could have all the wisdom and knowledge they sought because they’d been made complete in Christ. Christ was all one needed to seek knowledge and understanding because we’d already been made complete in Christ.
If you’re hungry for knowledge and wisdom today—know you can find that ALL in He who has made us whole in Him. Seek HIM and find Peace. The world will offer you all sorts of explanations, but it’s only in Jesus that you’ll know the Truth. That doesn’t mean you’ll have an answer for everything, but you’ll have Him. And in Him, you’ll be complete.
