Love Goes the Distance - Day 22 - Sunday, March 14th
Read Psalm 107:1-3 and focus on 17-22
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! (ESV)
Here in the presence of Almighty God, I kneel in silence, and with penitent and obedient heart confess my sins, so that I may obtain forgiveness by your infinite goodness and mercy. Amen. The Book of Common Prayer
It is easier to confess some things than others. But it is usually the more difficult ones and the more personal problems that we need to confess, for they are impeding our Christian growth. Quiet yourself before God this week and let him bring to your mind those things that you need to confess to him. He knows best what lies between the two of you. Dear Lord, grant me absolution in remission for all my sins, true repentance, amendment of life, and the grace and consolation of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Focused Prayer - Today, we will pray for the Holy Spirit to strengthen our desire to be obedient to God’s will as the Holy Spirit speaks to us during the 40 Days of Love Goes the Distance.
Weekly Fast - Caffeine and Sweets - This will be a tough one for all of us who love our daily caffeine intake and the delight of having a sweet tooth. However, this is an excellent opportunity for prayer and meditation this week as we fast caffeine and sweets.
