The Same God
By: Nicole Goddard
Will all this technology be good? Will it be bad? As I sit and mull questions like these, I can’t help but imagine my lineage asking the same questions. My great grands saw the crash of the stock market and wondered how the world would recover. My parents watched the clock roll over on January 1st, 2000 in angst with all the doomsday Y2K headlines leading up to it. Now as a parent myself, there is uncertainty over AI and the impacts it will have on my children and who knows what unknown technological advances are looming ahead.
When facing uncertainty on the horizon, we must fix our eyes on the one thing we can be certain of - our eternal home. Our Savior is coming again and he has a place for you in eternity!
The Apostle John’s words in Revelation tell us, “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5
So yes, pay attention to this world and pray for discernment as you navigate change. But don’t let the fears of this world distract you of the promise that is to come.
We serve a faithful God - a trustworthy God. He is the same God that led our ancestors through the uncertain times of the past and is the God that will guide us through tomorrow.
He is the very God that is making everything new!
Let’s treat each day as the gift it is to live for Christ, until we can live with Christ!
