The Heart of God
By: Pastor Amie
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
-John 3:16
Jesus died for the “whosoever.” Think about that. Jesus was born into His own Creation knowing He would face heartbreak, ridicule, slander, and adversity. Jesus carried the cross all the way to Calvary and faced a suffering our brains simply cannot fathom. He was spit on, laughed at, mocked, and beaten. He allowed it all.
For the whosoever.
In the miracle stories, we see God’s power. In the suffering, we see God’s heart. There was no length God wasn’t willing to go for you and for me. The way of the cross will always include an element of suffering. As God breaks our hearts for what breaks His, we often end up standing against culture while we stand beside people. This means we gain enemies.
The more you go all-in with Jesus the more darkness tries to creep into your friend group, your family, your workplace, and your ministries.
We will suffer division while desiring diversity. We will suffer animosity in the middle of being a peacekeeper. We will suffer a character assassination as we live lives of integrity. But we will consider it all JOY in the journey.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” -James 1:2-3
When we witness God's miracles; we know God’s power.
But friends….when we face trials and suffering, we witness and experience a piece of God’s heart. Stand strong. For the whosoever.
