Nothing Will Separate

I really hate the moment in movies where the good guys decide to separate. You know the classic lines, “You take the front door, I will go around back.” “Let’s split up and see if we can find them.” I get so anxious at those moments.
Maybe it all stems back to when I was a little boy and we arrived home from church on Sunday night and I was asleep in the back of a station wagon. My parents pulled into the garage, loaded the rest of my brothers into the house, but accidentally left me in the dark garage. I woke up disoriented and alone. Separated. Cue four year old screams and tears.
Imagine this comfort that Paul gives us when he says, “Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39 NLT). He has just given a list of powerful potential separators- angelic and demonic beings, every emotion imaginable, even life and death- to name a few. Nope, not one of them can separate us from God’s love
You didn’t do anything today, and nothing is going to happen tomorrow that is going to separate you from God’s love. What a great reason to just tell God today how much you enjoy him!
