Holiness
By: Pastor Amie

Every year I begin a new prayer that becomes my cry for the next 365 days. I’ve done this going on four years now, and God has used this in mighty ways! The idea is each day I begin by praying the same declaration. When I do this, my prayer is at the front of my mind in all I do!

This year my prayer is for a sound mind. This is my daily declaration and prayer.

“I am not a victim to the way this world thinks. I’ve been redeemed and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, made possible by the Resurrection of Jesus the Christ and because of the Fathers great love. I will not walk as the world walks. I will not think how the world thinks. I will not do as the world does. Rather God, I will think of things that are lovely, true, excellent, and worthy of praise.”

So often we focus on our outward actions. The things that are seen by others like service, words, and deeds. This is good but this is not the whole picture. I cannot be content with simply this. The Lord desires even my hidden spaces to be pure. I want the most private areas of who I am to be holy as He is Holy. The spaces that nobody but He and I see and hear. This year He’s going after my thought life.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8

Oh God! Would you help my thoughts reflect Your holiness?
