Priceless

“They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.”
Psalms 19:10 NIV
Do you remember the old MasterCard Priceless commercials? “There are some things money can’t buy. For everything else, there’s Mastercard.” The idea was that your investment would lead to something priceless. Something so high of value that it makes the investment completely worth it.
Do you catch where I’m going?
In John 17:17, Jesus tells us the Word of God is necessary for sanctification. It’s essential to God being able to continually change us to be more holy, or “set apart” for His purposes.
This requires investment in God’s Word. But not a little investment here and there– investment with every resource you have. Your time, your heart, your soul, your mind.
We have something that is of the highest of value. An eternal investment that cannot be destroyed or stolen or fade away.
God’s word in and of itself is priceless. But it doesn’t become priceless to us unless we desire it more than everything else.
These are some of the tough questions I also ask myself:
Do you desire sanctification? Do you desire God’s Word more than that tv show or video game? Do you desire God's Word more than that outfit? More than food or sleep? More than life itself?
Praise God for his priceless life-changing Word. Ask him to reveal what you love more and help for changing that.
