A God Worthy of our Worship

A God Worthy of our Worship
By: Anna Williams

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20 NLT

I recently shared a meme on social media that really resonated with me. It said: “Adulthood is like looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane.”

Life can throw some unexpected curveballs at you and when it does, it’s hard not to get overwhelmed by your circumstances. I’ll be honest, it’s difficult to be surrounded by so much adversity and yet keep your focus on God – but it's not impossible. We just need to be intentional about it.

That’s why I’m so grateful that we can gather for in-person worship because there is something really special that happens when we do so. When we sing worship songs together and unify to make much of Jesus – the Holy Spirit moves amongst us and can refresh our hearts.

Another form of worship that is accessible 24/7 and that has always helped me focus on God is marveling at His Creation. Sometimes taking a 15-minute break from the day and going for a walk can do wonders to clear your mind and renew your spirit.

Observe all that is around you and marvel at the complexity of what He has made. Take a moment to thank Him for those beautiful children that are driving you crazy. Praise Him for the buds on the trees signaling that Winter is finally over. See his invisible qualities and get to know God.
