More than…
By: Pastor Todd Crofford
Bertha Munroe was once the Dean of Eastern Nazarene College, where I attended. She had a slogan she lived her life by, and I’ve never forgotten it- “Not Somehow, but Triumphantly!”
Clearly, she was one in heart and mind with the apostle Paul when he wrote, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37) Wow! As if it's not great enough to be conquerors- he said MORE than conquerors. I want to live with that mindset, don’t you?
The way we approach something mentally profoundly impacts how things will turn out. If you go into the gym in the morning thinking, “I am so tired, I am just going to get through this workout,” you will undoubtedly accomplish much less than if you walk in the door saying, “I’m gonna’ kill it in here today!”
When you walk into a difficult situation at work, temptation at high school, or new challenges at band or sports practice, remember that God walks in with you and you are more than a conqueror. So chin up! It’s not self-help or wishful thinking that carries us through. It is the firm belief that God is working all things together for our good. So watch out world, here we come!
