Be Like Jesus
Pastor Amie Donovan

“Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus” -Philippians 2:5

I’ve heard it said, “Unto the Cross came death, and unto death came the Cross.” Which way do you view Jesus’s crucifixion?

That answer probably reflects the way you reach.

One viewpoint feels hopeless, whereas the other testifies to hope! When we recognize all Christ has done, we reflect the Light in the Darkness! Stop and meditate on the verse below.

“He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death-even to death on a cross.” (Phil 2:8)

Jesus loves you and loves others. He loves to the point of death. His body poured out for you and for me. When we live in that Truth, loving others becomes our lifestyle.

Do you live in the truth that Jesus loves us all? Does your attitude reflect the self-sacrificing nature of our Savior?

There’s a hymn called “I stand amazed in your presence.” At the start of a new week, would you sit in prayer with me as we recall the words to this song?

For me it was in the garden,
He prayed: “Not my will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat-drops of blood for mine.

In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To strengthen Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.

He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calv’ry,
And suffered, and died alone.

May your love towards those in the world, reflect Christ’s love towards you.
