Starting December 5th, service times are moving to Sundays at 8:30, 10, & 11:30 am!

When Less is More

“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”  John 3:30

There is never a time the saying ‘less is more,’ rings truer than in the life of a Christian. Sunday we talked about dying to ourselves and living for God. Did you know most people would agree it’s easier to die for your faith than it is to live for it?

Do you know why that is true?

Living for Jesus requires you to stand against anything that replaces God in your life. It requires your old self to become less, while you become increasingly Christ-like.

Ephesians 4:22-24 reminds us that “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”

When we make holiness our lifestyle, it’s not us the world sees, but God in us! How exciting that we are walking out our testimony just  by living out our faith! My heart’s desire is that the way I think speaks Jesus. The way I speak shows Jesus. The way I behave looks like Jesus. I imagine a world where nobody has to say they’re a Christian for people to know it. Would you pray with me?

Heavenly Father,

Would you continue to pull back anything in my life that is of my old self? I desire to be a billboard for your Glory everywhere I step! God would you empty me of myself, fill me with you, and then send me out to declare your Holy name this week in all I do? Your will be done in my life, God.
-Amen
