Wilderness
By: Danny Cox
"God is with you, wherever you go"
When I was young, I was what some children may call a "scaredy cat." I hated being alone, I hated the dark. I didn't like new places or new people. All these things scared me.
I remember visiting my grandmother and uncles as a child. They had roughly five acres of forest surrounding their house. I loved those woods, I loved the smell of them, I loved the sounds when being in them. I loved everything about them, as long as my uncle was with me. When I was alone, I couldn't experience the wonder of that wilderness, only the fear of it. When my uncle was with me, however, I could see the beauty.
I think the same can be said for everyday life. When we are by ourselves, I think we can lose sight of the beauty and wonder around us. When we recognize that God is with us every step, like he says in Joshua, then we can stop fearing the world and recognize the beauty and wonder that it holds for us, that God created FOR us.
Joshua 1:9 NIV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go ."

Thank you for that. Meeting new people has always been a challenge for me. In a room of people I dont know, I have, in the past, always stayed close to the door. It made/makes it easy to remain anonymous.
nThat being said, God doesnt want us to be anonymous. He gives us a testimony for His glory, and our testimony could be the story that changes someone's life.
nI've been facing my fears of meeting people by getting involved in a few of the ministries at Real Life. Its still difficult to meet people, but, little by little, it's a little easier.
nThank you for your story. It hit home. God bless you for your transparency. I guess fear of Meeting people is common, and others struggle with it too.
nGod is Good. Not just part of the time. ALL THE TIME
