Patient like the Father
By: Pastor Adam Munshaw
9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
2 Peter 3:9
Last week, for whatever reason, certain sections of Christian tiktok and social media decided to predict that the rapture was supposed to happen. So, either we all got left behind, or they were wrong. In these times of chaos and confusion, the algorithms and AI are not helping lead people toward truth or peace.
In Matthew 24:36, Jesus says concerning the end times that “no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.”
I’m not here to talk to you today about the end times. I’m here to tell you just a few small pieces of all the things that only the Father knows.
God knows your heart. God hears your thoughts and prayers. God even knows your sins, yet He calls you by name.
Son. Daughter. Child of God.
2 Peter 3:9 says that the Lord is not being slow to keep His promise of coming back - rather, He is being patient for YOUR sake.
He is also being patient for…
that family member you’ve been praying would one day come home.
for that co-worker God has been waiting for you to invite to church.
for that child you are trying your best to raise up in faith in Jesus.
for YOU.
Here’s the reality… in times full of noise, questions, and endless opinions sitting right on the news feeds of our phones, we need to patiently help people discern truth from lies.
God’s heart is patient, how might ours also be?
