Do you trust Him?

Several years ago, my husband and I found ourselves facing a lot of change. Suddenly, we were both changing jobs, we were moving, changing where we worshipped, and we were sending a child off to college … and that was just the big stuff!

One morning, I found myself sitting with the Lord and saying out loud: I trust You, God. I trust You, God. I trust You, God.

It reminded me of the story we find in chapter 9 of the gospel of Mark, where a man brings his demon-possessed child to Jesus. Jesus’ disciples were unable to help the boy, but the man brings his son to Jesus and says, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” (v.22). Jesus responds to the man, “‘If you can’? Everything is possible for one who believes.”

And in verse 24, “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’”

Do you trust Him? Do you believe that Jesus can do what man can’t? That nothing is impossible for Him?

Do you trust Him? Do you believe His promises to always be with us, that He loves us and has good plans for us, and that He is working things together for good for those who love Him?

Life can be scary and uncertain. But, do you trust Him? Do you believe He is who He says He is, and that He does what He says He’ll do? Do you believe that He is for you, not against you?

Will you say it out loud with me right now, as a declaration of your faith in the Promise Keeper?  I trust You, God! I trust You, God! I trust You, God!
