The Right Voice
By: Kaleigh Hoschar
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
A couple of years ago, I was in a fragile state of mind and through my wrestling with life and lack of wisdom, I found myself listening to every voice out there. Good or bad… instead of the Holy Spirit’s voice…
You and I both know that the world is full of good and bad advice. With the click of a button or swipe of a finger we can listen to someone’s advice or take on life and absorb it as our own. We shortchange true wisdom for cheap, knockoff insight into core problems we are facing.
What would it look like though to absorb the voice of God over the noise of the world? How would we walk differently, talk differently, and pray differently?
What I am NOT saying is that all advice is flawed. There are spiritual leaders and mentors that you should have in your life that help you look at things with an alternative perspective.
We just have to be a people with enough discernment to take it all to God and vet it. We are indeed just people…. And NOT the Holy Spirit.
There is joy that comes from communicating with God when you need advice! He is so much better than your Alexa or CoPilot when it comes to matters of the heart!
Encouraging you and I today, to seek first God’s wisdom!
